About Betsy Layne

Betsy Layne High School is located in the community of Betsy Layne in Floyd County in eastern Kentucky. The school opened in 1939 and serves students from several communities along the Levisa Fork of the Big Sandy River. The Betsy Layne Bobcats boys basketball program competes in the Kentucky High School Athletic Association and is part of the strong basketball tradition found throughout the mountain communities of eastern Kentucky.
