Bracken County High School is located in Brooksville in Bracken County in northern Kentucky along the Ohio River. The school opened in 1967 following consolidation of the county's smaller high schools. The Bracken County Polar Bears boys basketball team competes in the Kentucky High School Athletic Association and represents a rural river county where high school athletics serve as a major source of community pride.
